los angeles based SAG-AFTRA actress & modelI was born & raised in Rockford, IL, of "A League of their Own" fame. A true Midwest gal, I thoroughly enjoyed growing up surrounded by my huge Catholic family and kind community. (It's true, everyone is so nice in the Midwest!!) As a kid I was exceedingly shy but incredibly imaginative, constantly playing dress up in my mom's old gowns and directing my sister in plays I wrote and of course also starred in. My first real acting training began in college, at the University of Iowa, where I received my Bachelors in Theatre & had the opportunity to study everything from Shakespeare to Grotowski. I also had incredible opportunities to act in new works from the talented writers of the renowned International Writers Workshop.
As luck would have it, an influx of feature films were being made in Iowa the summer of my graduation due to a short lived state film tax incentive program, and I made my film debut in the comedy feature "Splatter" in which I played the "delightfully vapid receptionist Shyrell" (Bob Saar, The Hawkeye). I moved to Los Angeles shortly after working on a couple more films in Iowa & immediately began working in commercials. I also began modeling, & am lucky to work often with my husband, actor Moneer Yaqubi. We reside in Santa Monica and continue to pursue film, commercial, TV & print work. Some of my favorite things include: Judy Garland, Organizing, Records, Broadway Musicals, Hiking, & our part time Cat, Cookie |
